LECTURES
Week 1
not registered to the system yet, module briefing.
Week 2
We were taught on how to brainstorm ideas for our project and a brief on our theme which is to do an urban design on places located in Malaysia with a note that the location is reachable for us to gather data collection for the next task of the project.
Week 3&4
field trip study & data collection
Week 5:
Today's lecture is about the effective ways to finalize our data from the field trip that we attend for data collections. The lecturer shows us on our senior's previous work on how to finalize it and make it useful to then later on help us on executing our project.
Week 6:
In our last week of class, we are briefed on how to create the final presentation slides as well as on how to execute our project ideally.
INSTRUCTIONS
In this project, we are required to design an urban future that focuses on improving the systems we interact with daily by prioritizing usability, efficiency, and human needs. Urban roads are one of the most important everyday infrastructures because they directly affect safety and quality of life.We chose Glow Path because it transforms luminous roads from a technical concept into a practical everyday solution. Unlike traditional systems with uneven lighting and high maintenance costs, Glow Path uses advanced strontium aluminate phosphor materials to provide consistent, energy-efficient illumination. This ensures both strong pavement performance and high luminous efficiency, making it suitable for real-world urban use.
Week 2
During this week, we brainstorm and search for some ideas to solve problems that exist around Kuala Lumpur, or somewhere that is accessible for us. Our first idea is to create a street sign audio targeting the blinds (OKU) or someone that's visually impaired.
Week 3&4
Study field.

Fig 1.0 First Idea Proposal |
After confirming with Mr. Fauzi, he gave us insight that it is possible for us to execute but will take a lot of time to do research, gathering data from the OKUs, and we might have to put extra effort to finish just the research itself so he suggested to gather other idea first and save this one for a backup. The second idea that we came up with is to create a 3D Mapping with the same target audience which are the blinds and someone with impaired vision. Mr. Fauzi then said this one is also possible, but same problems with the first proposal, it requires extra effort and we might not have time to finish it since we only have less than 2 weeks to do the basic research for the written proposal and presentation.
So for our third idea, we came up with a project to make a glow path which is a self illuminating photoluminescent that covers area with poor lighting such as the park, river path, or back alleys during night time.
Fig 1.1 Third and Final Idea Proposed
Mr. Fauzi approves this third idea of us, so we began to do our research and create the powerpoint slide including the introduction, background, rationale, prototype sketches, location, and reference to later on record our presentation and submit it.
