LECTURES

Week 1:

Mr. Martin briefed us about the module in our very first class. He told us what to expect in future assignments and reminded us to update our blogs. Besides briefing us on our module, he also gave us exercises in using adobe premiere pro. In this task, we are given cuts of videos and needed to arrange them.

Week 4:

In our fourth week, we are given the task to edit and do some color corrections to the video, it all depends on what we think the color scheme would be suitable with the vibe of the video.

Color correction is the process of altering the color of a picture or video to make it appear more natural. The steps are as follows: brightness, contrast, color balance, saturation, and hue. Color correction also ensures that the colors in a picture or video are accurate on many sorts of electronic devices. Color correction is frequently used in film production, photography, and videography to improve the end result.

Color grading is the process of adjusting the saturation, contrast, brightness, color balance, and hue of an image or video. It is widely used in cinema, photography, and television production.

The difference is that color correction ensures that the colors in a picture or video are true, whereas color grading creates a certain impact style or mood. Is it required to use both color correction and color grading when editing videos? Or should you simply do one of them? Yes, it is critical. They fulfill distinct functions.

Week 7&9:

We did a shooting exercise in week 7 about stop motion. We worked with the same group as the second project (shooting/editing) project "s". For the stop-motion, we decided to do a cooking scene and a single character for another scene. It was quite challenging since we are making an egg for the cooking scene and it's hard to animate the stop-motion part when the liquid egg is pouring into the pan. Meanwhile, for the single character scene its challenging when we made the character bow down since it kept on falling due to the mass on its head. We managed to get all the pictures for the stop-motion and we continued to edit on week 9 since week 8 is independent learning week.

REFLECTIONS

I like how this exercises always helps us prepare for the final project. Every single exercise is needed to introduce us the fundamentals for editing and learning adobe premiere pro.
