LECTURES

Week 4:

We study lines of action to exaggerate characters' movements, particularly in dynamic stances like fighting or exercising. Additionally, we discovered how to create characters out of basic geometric forms like circles, rectangles, and triangles. We also learn about the character's facial expressions and how the background/setting might influence how the character feels.

Week 5:

In week five, we study perspective so that we may draw backgrounds and give them more complex compositions. The lesson demonstrated how to generate one- and two-point perspectives and how to accent a landscape using them.

INSTRUCTIONS

Project 1A | Character Design

We had to design a character for this project based on the story we composed for the "Film Studies and Cinematography" module. Given that I chose the horror genre, I wanted to make the main character a human and to add some icons, I made him wear ankle support rather than a shoe. I also took some of my Dad's appearance for the character since he used to study witchcraft before marrying my religious mom which was the inspiration for the story.

The character needs to be put into five different dynamic poses as the next assigned task. I chose the most odd and bizarre positions because whenever someone is possessed by an evil force, they would do extremely frightful poses that make us feel uncomfortable and afraid.

Project 1B | Environment Design

Now, for this section, we must develop the setting for the character and the plot. I want the setting to have a hint of dread amid an open forest but not be overly frightening. The first one was drawn at a graveyard near a woodland, with a flying huge head in the background to give it a mysterious feeling.

We also need to draw the environment with perspective and I chose one one-point perspective for both drawings.
