LECTURES

Week 2:

This week's class was canceled since it conflicted with another module I was taking. I was able to keep up because the lecturer had recorded the session. This week, we must use the slow in and out principles to animate a ball that is bouncing. I use a video of a ball bouncing and increase the number of frames to delay the motion of the ball in the air.

Week 3:

In the third week, our professor introduced us to multiple animation fundamentals, such as pose to pose and straight forward, squash and stretch, and as well as follow through and overlapping. Then we use Opentoonz to try animating a bouncing ball using squash and stretch and also pose to pose principles.

Fig. 1.1 Pose to pose principles

I start by sketching three stances, known as keys, extreme, and breakdown. After I had drawn those three stances, I began to fill in the spaces between them. Not to forget, I added squash and stretch principles, In the breakdown pose you can see I made the ball wider but narrower, the same goes for the extreme pose which I modified the shape a bit less. After a while, the ball will lose its momentum, therefore I'll also lessen the amount of emphasis I provide to the squash and stretch principles. I then finished all of the frames until the ball stopped bouncing and roll out.

I then add follow through and overlapping principles, to use it, I added an antenna to the ball not just to put follow-through and overlapping principles, but to also give the ball more dimension as u can see it doesn't just bounce up and down, but will also rotate since the antenna's mass give momentum to the ball.

I lost the file on Opentoonz, trying ways to figure out how to get each frame back but I couldn't so I started all over and this was the final result.
