LECTURES

Week 4:

This week, we're learning about character development, including their look, behavior, worldview, and story background as well as how each character develops from the first to the last chapter of the story. Even though two characters are placed in identical circumstances, all those elements cause them to react differently from one another. Additionally, we study the external (their physics) and internal (their emotions) elements that contribute to the character's development.

Week 5:

This week, in order to study the elements of acts 1-3 of a story (introduction, climax, resolution), we watched the animated film "Kitbull".  We also received feedback from the lecture regarding the first assignment's rough writing, or the story spine. Following the feedback, I started making the necessary changes. In addition, as part of a class exercise, we had to break down the script of the movie "Kitbull" in order to learn how to write a script for a story.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Project 1 | Story Development

For this project, we must produce a story and report it in Word and PDF that includes;

  • Story title
  • Logline
  • Synopsis
  • Theme
  • Character Description
  • World Description
  • Script

I'm going to compose a story based on the character for the "Animation Fundamental" module since that module and this one are related. My passion for horror films and stories was partly influenced by my dad's family history. Since my aunt was more receptive to learning about my family history than my parents, I started asking her about my dad's and my great grandfather's, and I also had her tweak the story to fit the requirements of the assignments at hand.

I started writing a script after I was done with my story and was done with the corrections after receiving the feedback, which is one of the requirements for this assignment and will also aid with the final project in the future.

After I finished the final project, I realized I struggled and made a lot of adjustments so I revised my story development based on the animatic storyboard. I also changed most of the character's names and shortened the script written.
