LECTURES

All lectures are completed in Video and Sound Production / Exercises

INSTRUCTIONS

AUDIO DUBBING

In this work, we were given a muted video and were required to dub it with our own voice for both the male and female characters; we also needed to tweak the sound for the opposing gender. We must also add sound effects to the video. This assignment must be completed in Adobe Premiere Pro.

We were divided into groups to search for sound effects for us to save some time. We created a Google Sheet with minute and second data, as well as the sound effect we should utilize and a link to that sound effect.

After we completed looking for sound effects, we began editing it with Adobe Premiere and this was the final result for our very first assignment.

SOUND SHAPING

For the second task, we were given an audio file and were instructed to sound shape/create sound effects as though the sound was:
  • Originated within a cave
  • Originated in a closet
  • Occurred via a phone call
  • Originated in a toilet

REFLECTIONS

I found that this assignment pushes our creativity of how the same video can deliver a completely different feeling by changing one or two voice effects. It's very amazing how the same vision but different sounds can change the vibe of a video because of what we heard.
