December 08, 2024 - January 05, 2025/ (Week 11 - 14) Anandya Dewi Saputra / 0354651 Bachelor of Design (Hons)in Creative Media / Taylor's University Sonic Design / Final Project (Audio Game) LECTURES All lectures are written in  Sonic Design Exercises INSTRUCTIONS In this project, we are required to record and edit all audio from our own to use for the sonic design of the chosen game for our final project, and the game I chose "Child of Light". I began by importing the video to adobe audition so I have a guide on where I can put the audio. I then started to record the audio using the microphone I bought for gaming. Fig 1.0 Microphone I then recorded a bunch of audio. For the ambiance, I mostly used the sound effect of frying a chicken and a bit of my voice before adding filters to it. For walking, jumping, and landing, I used my hand and slammed it into the table. For the orb sound effect, I mainly used a glass and knocked it onto each other. The same goes for the sword; ...

November 21, 2024 - December 08, 2024/ (Week 9 - 11) Anandya Dewi Saputra / 0354651 Bachelor of Design (Hons)in Creative Media / Taylor's University Sonic Design / Project 1 (Storytelling Audio Visual) LECTURES All lectures are written in Sonic Design Exercises INSTRUCTIONS In this project, we are required to create a storytelling audio-visual. Little Red Riding Hood is my favorite childhood story, so I chose this story for my project, it also enables me to vividly imagine the visualization which is easier to plan and execute. The first thing I did was to record my own voice doing the narration so that it could accurately capture the feelings and attitude of the story. I then recorded them, and imported the audio into Adobe Audition to clean it up. I removed any breathing and lip-smacking noises, and then set the phase so the audio was perfectly in sync with the planned videos. September 27, 2024 -  / (Week 1 - 14) Anandya Dewi Saputra / 0354651 Bachelor of Design (Hons)in Creative Media / Taylor's University Design Research Dissertation / Task 1 (Draft Dissertation) INSTRUCTIONS For this part of the project, we are given the task of writing a literature review from 5 articles that link to our research. On top of that, we have to make a literature matrix to create the subheading of our research. We have to check if the article is written by scholars. This methodology section is supposed to explain the research approach, justification, and purpose behind it with appropriate citations. To conclude the review, think about the major trends and the main contributors. How are there gaps in the literature and whether the review should continue and be updated or are you satisfied that any further research would need to take a completely different approach. It is also mandatory to show our progression weekly to our lecturer. Literature Review Matrix At the start o...

September 26, 2024 - / (Week 1 - 14) Anandya Dewi Saputra / 0354651 Bachelor of Design (Hons)in Creative Media / Taylor's University Sonic Design / Project 1 (Auditory Imaging) LECTURES All lectures are written in Sonic Design Exercises INSTRUCTIONS This project required us to make a 3-4 minute auditory experience that will take listeners to an otherworldly soundscape through the artful work of audio. First, I began with something I did for a college English class years ago: I wrote out a short description of the scene in Google Docs, drafted details, and chose the foreground and background sound differences. Foreground sounds are those that capture the center of the audio world: character action or significant environmental elements, while background sounds are underplayed ambient noises that come to the fore without blowing away the main sounds. After the scenario outline was finalized, I started the editing phase in Adobe Audition. For this piece, I layered and balanced the audi...

Our lecturer showed us some of our senior's previous designs, and how we could hear the dynamics from the sound effects to let us feel how the environment is. We will have three projects and one final project (not including exercise) that we will finish in 14 weeks. Only on a certain project are we allowed to use an existing sound effect, but for narration and project 2 onwards, it is compulsory for us to record our own sound effects.  INSTRUCTIONS AUDIO EQUALIZER For our first week, we received our first exercise which is equalizer. In this exercise, we are given a flat voice example to match with the file given by our lecturer.  Fig ...
